2a.(47) - Trevor Laws, DT, Notre Dame - Boo. I don't get this at all. I understand that they have been trying to solidify the interior of that line forever now, but I just don't understand how they are going to do that with Laws. He was a workout warrior, and has a good motor, but that can only do so much to mask a lack of talent.

2b. (49) - DeSean Jackson, WR, California - Jackson is a huge threat in Philly Offense because it's a perfect fit for him. He'll get the ball quickly and he'll have the chance to run in some open space. On kickoff returns is where he'll be at his best, as he was consistently one of the best in nation in college. This was a good player at a great value in the second round.
Completely unrelated note: Did anyone else see the suit that Jackson was wearing on draft day? I wish i could find a picture of it but I can't. Seriously, the suit was horrible, but Jackson made it look damn good. Now, I want a cream colored three piece of my own.

3. (80) Bryan Smith, OLB, McNeese State - All of these small school guys, it was truly incredible. He's really undersized to play end, which is where alot of people think he will end up. At best case, he'll be another Trent Cole, at worst case, he'll be out of the league quickly.

4a. (109) Mike McGlynn, OG, Pittsburgh - He was a tackle in college but really opened people's eyes while playing guard at the senior bowl. He's tough, but He'll struggle in pass protection.
Pick Grade: C
4b. (131) Jack Ikegwuonu, CB, Wisconsin - Great Name, better pick. Jack was a top prospect until he hurt his knee and needed to have surgery. He has also had some off-field problems, but in the fourth round is where players with flaws make their cash. Jack has some serious potential.
Pick Grade: A
6a. (184) Mike Gibson, OT, California - See McGlynn, Mike. Same guy.
Pick Grade: C-
6b. (200) Joe Mays, ILB, North Dakota State - Will be a quick developing special teams stud, but at 5'11 there are questions about his ability to be a middle linebacker in this league. Small School competition didn't help his stock.
Pick Grade: C
6c. (203) Andy Studebaker, OLB, Wheaton - Hard to argue against anyone who is named after a classic car, but There are some serious questions about Andy too. He's another guy who projects to a rush end position, but is very undersized. Again, I have to wonder about the lack of top competition.
7. (230) King Dunlop, OT, Auburn - 6'9, 310. That's it. That's all you have to say in the seventh round. Get someone you think you can develop. The King is a steal here.

Total Grade: C+
I didn't get alot of this. They seemed to be picking the best available player, but do they have that luxury? I'm not really sure. I'm thinking that the reality of the whole thing might be that they are still trying to fill certain round holes (DE, LB, DT) with square pegs. I wouldn't expect too much of this class to have huge impacts.

Draft Rumor Mill: 04/23
- The Cardinals have confirmed that they have denied several offers for Anquan Boldin. Among those involved are the Eagles and the Redskins. The Eagles have way more firepower, as they are looking to trade away Lito Shepard, which would fill a huge hole for the Cards. However, Arizona is claiming that there is nothing that would make them trade Boldin Away.
- The Saints have been looking to move up in the draft for awhile now. They appear to be targeting LSU DT Glenn Dorsey, which would mean that they need to strike a deal with the Rams, because the Falcons will select Dorsey at 3. Don't look for this deal to happen, and look for New Orleans to stay put at 10.
- The Final terms of the Jared Allen trade is in. It took a first and two thirds. The Chiefs knew what they were doing apparently. They now have six picks in the top 100, and this could be the draft that makes or breaks the Herm Edwards era at Arrowhead.
- It wouldn't be a rumor mill without a Jeremy Shockey update. Apparently, there are certainly people who believe that Shockey will be a Saint by the end of the Draft. I still don't think that it makes any sense, but if it happens, Jerry Reese better get at least a high 3rd round pick for him. If not, I'm lighting things on fire.
