How About That?

So, It appears that Brett Favre is going to grace the cover of Madden NFL 09. The only thing I could say is:

Wow, That was so obvious that I didn't even think of it.

I mean, we all know that John Madden loves him some Brett Favre, and with everyone's favorite cheese head retiring, what better time to put him on the cover? It's not like the Madden Curse is going to hurt his golf game.

Hey, It's better than Jared Zabransky on the cover of NCAA 08.

Speaking of NCAA, The '09 Edition will be covered by soon-to-be Baltimore Raven Matt Ryan on the PS3, and Darren McFadden on the Xbox 360. Now, this kind of annoys me. Does EA think that I'm going to buy a different version of the game depending on who is on the cover?

NCAA is due out on July 15th, While Madden, and the 20th anniversary edition that includes Head Coach, will be out in mid-august.

Ok, EA Sports, What the Hell?

Jared Zabransky. Are we serious here? Look at all of the Fantastic Players we had in this years draft. Brady Quinn, Calvin Johnson, and a certain future #31 on the New York Giants. But No, You instead chose Jared Zabransky.

This isn't the first time you've annoyed me either, EA Sports. Not at all. Recently, You seem intent upon turning out crappy rehashes of Madden each year rather than produce a quality update. Fine, I stopped playing games and started doing Franchises. Speaking of which, When is the last time you added anything new the Franchise mode in Madden? Yea, That would be like 2004. But, At least you've always been good with NCAA Football.

Until Last Year.

Now, You have me worried. Did Anyone notice that NCAA Football 07 played mysteriously similar to '06? Did anyone notice that nothing new was added to the Dynasty mode? Did anyone notice that the only new feature was that stupid "Campus Legend" mode? Isn't this kinda similar to the Ill-fated, nobody plays it, please stop for the love of god, Superstar Mode in Madden?

You have me very worried, EA Sports. And Now, you chose Jared Zabransky?

I understand that he led one of the greatest comebacks in College Football History. I get it. However, think back to that game. Remember when he threw a pass HORIZONTALLY across the field and it was returned for a pick-six? Remember him almost losing that game for them? Hell, Why not put Coach Chris Peterson on the cover? He is the one who had the balls to call the hook & ladder?

Instead, We get a guy who wasn't even drafted. A guy who was signed as a Free Agent by the Texans. Wow.

Way to regain my confidence, EA sports. The Game better be good.
