I like Jim Zorn a whole lot more now.
Look the Redskins could have traded away their whole draft, like they always do.
I have said many a time the Redskins needed a fundamental shift in the way they put together a football team. Yes, they were a playoff team...however they were an over matched playoff team. They needed to restock their roster with young talent, not only to win now and in the future but to regain a hold of a salary cap situation that had gotten out of control.

Is a deep draft that addresses many different positions. They completed the switch to a West Coast Offense by round 3. And they even got a QB to groom (Brennan) in a system that plays to his strengths.
While many of their picks are boom bust they had so many selections that the odds are int he favour.
The Redskins had one of the best drafts this year, and it's sounds good to say that again because....
I hate the Giants.

Another Argument for Colt Brennan...
It seems that there are a bunch of people in the Lions front office that beleive that 2nd year quarterback Drew Stanton is the best quarterback currently residing on their roster.
I frequently have used Stanton as a comparison for my Favorite Hawaii QB in the sense that Brennan will probably need a "redshirt" year like Stanton got last year. Stanton tweaked his ankle in Rookie Mini-Camp and was stashed on the DL while he learned the Lions offensive system.
There is no reason that someone couldn't take Brennan late in the draft, claim his hip injury is worse than it is, and put him away for the year to watch film and learn the playbook.
It's all about working the system.

QB Rankings!
I’m generally pretty solid with my player evaluation. Since I don’t have a favorite college football team I can remain really objective this is important. I admittedly don’t watch as much college football as I should but I find highlight videos/game clips online and can see what I like and what I don’t in a player.
I also read about the draft more than any human being probably should. I have several sources (NFL.com, ESPN.Com, NFLDraftCountdown.com, and Rotoworld.com) whose player evaluations I trust. I check and crosscheck what different people say one player’s strengths and weaknesses are. Finally I throw in character, college statistics, measurables, combine and pro day workouts and boom I have Jason Comack’s inaugural player rankings.
My mock draft isn’t set (and it probably won’t be until the night before) but my rankings are. Almost all the Pro-Days are done and the odds someone knocks over a 7-11 before now and the draft are low.
As a buildup to the draft everyday this week I will post my rankings for a position.
QB
Tier 1: Borderline Franchise QB
1: Matt Ryan
Great size/intangibles, however his upside is limited as he isn’t a great natural athlete. He may never be a star but he should be a decent starting QB. Is he worthy of a top 5 pick? I say no, but neither was Alex Smith and he got pushed up the draft board in the same fashion.
Tier 2: Upside Guys
2. Chad Henne
I think on most team’s draft boards Flacco is second (more on him in a second) however I like Henne more. He has been a four year starter at a big college program. He has the size, arm strength and accuracy. The biggest knock on Henne is his consistency (or lack there of) he can get flustered, sloppy and fundamentally unsound. All these things are correctable at the next level; I think Henne is on the same ground as Matt Ryan. A borderline franchise QB who should be good, but never great.
3. Joe Flacco
Everyone’s flavor of the week. Great size and strength, good delivery and deep ball, he is a prototypical pocket QB. So what’s not to love? Well he couldn’t beat out Tyler Palko at Pitt. I love his upside and mesuarbles and Delaware have produced a great QB before (Rich Gannon) but the lack of competition in college makes him a boom or bust pick and much more of a risk than Henne which earns him the number three spot. On the positive side he probably has the most upside/star potential of any QB in this draft.
4. Brian Brohm
Brohm is also a boom or bust type. Played in an offensive system that boosted his stats and didn’t ask him to make NFL type throws on a consistent basis. He also has been unable to avoid the injury bug, torn ACL in ’05 and torn ligaments in his finger in ’06. Not as safe as Henne and not as much of an upside as Flacco gets him slotted 4th.
5. Andre Woodsoon
How the mighty have fallen. Once regarded as a potential number one overall pick now might be out of the second round. A poor senior bowl hurt his stock. His slow delivery was exaggerated by Martz’s offensive system. Woodson has ideal size and is definitely a better athlete than any of the above mentioned QB’s (with the exception of Ryan.) His mechanics need to be redone and he isn’t a great fit for every offensive scheme, but in the right system with the right coaches Woodson could end up being a steal.
Tier 3: You Intrigue Me
6. Colt Brennan
It’s been a comedy of errors for Brennan (a 3SS favorite.) First the poor bowl game, than the poor senior bowl, the poor combine and now an injury that will keep him out 6-12 weeks and possibly out of the draft entirely. I have him ranked above guys like John David Booty because unlike Booty I believe Brennan has starting potential. If I’m an NFL GM and Brennan is there in the 6th round I grab him, stash him on the IR for a year and than reassess him. Give him two full NFL off seasons to bulk up and learn an NFL system and see where you stand.
7A. Josh Johnson
7B. Dennis Dixon
Can either truly be a starting QB? Honestly I don’t know what I do know is that these two are a set of intriguing prospects. Johnson has seen his stock rise since the end of the college season and may sneak up and be a 4th round pick. He has decent size (he needs to add bulk.) He’s smart and a good passer; he hasn’t faced top competition and is a developmental project. He’s a great athlete who can make plays with his feet, could move to WR if QB doesn’t work out. I’ve heard the Patriots have shown a great interest in him.
Dixon’s story is well known; a torn ACL cost him the ability finish a great season and killed his draft stock. However, his recovery from ACL surgery has been nothing short of remarkable. He’s mobile, has good height (6’4) could use some bulk. He’s great at making plays with his feet and throwing on the run. As a QB he’s going to need a lot of work and is the definition of a project player. However he could become a WR if QB doesn’t work out. He reminds me of Brad Smith except with more potential to be a starting QB.

The First of Many...
NFL Draft Articles this year. For all those Jets and Niners fans out there whose seasons are already over.
Here we are at the end of the college football regular season.
Now is about the time that we all sit around and think about who the top guys at each position are in this upcoming NFL draft. So, it’s about now that we start a feature highlighting Guys You Should Want. We’ll bring up some interesting guys in this year’s draft, and give you a little bit of knowledge about them.
Quickly, we remind that a lot changes quickly with the NFL draft, so projections now are not guaranteed to be accurate. I’m trying to take all the variables to consideration and guess where they will end up.
Here we go.
Antoine Cason, CB, Arizona – Like you expected anything else? Cason was been a starter for his while career and a star for most that time. He is a little bit small at 5’11, but has unbelievable playmaking skills that allow him to make up for his shortcomings. This season, he started returning punts in an effort yo impress NFL scouts with his versatility. The result? You saw the
Oregon game. He returned one for a TD.
Projection: First Round. I expect Cason to take a small hit in the offseason workouts, but he will still be regarded as one of the best corners in the draft.
Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida - For a long time, Jenkins was considered a guy who had all the physical tools, but was inconsistent. After his senior year, he is now considered one of the best corners in the entire country and a big reason for South Florida’s early season climb to the top. The combine will be huge for Jenkins, because it will accentuate all of his positives, and not show his negatives.
Projection: Top Ten. Jenkins is a physical beast who is still a little raw as a corner. Teams will fall in love with his physical traits and forget his flaws on draft day. He’ll be good, but will need to improve to be great.
Colt Brennan, QB, Hawaii – This sucks. Colt Brennan is paying for the sins of Timmy Chang. People think that Brennan is overrated because of his numbers, like his predecessor. However, Colt is legit. Sure, the system he plays in certainly helped his Heisman stock, but this is the pro’s. When you watch him play, you can tell that he can play QB in the league.
Projection: 3rd Round. Someone is going to get a steal in Brennan. He’s going to remain stagnant as far as stock goes, and he’s going to have to wait until day 2 to hear his name called. However, everyone should be aware which team he goes to in the NFL. He’ll be playing for them for awhile.
