This Couldn't Be Any More Annoying...

J. Brent Cox, who I have been raving about for some time now, has been put on the disabled list with shoulder Tendonitis. According to the New York Daily News, he was next in line to be called up to the Yankees bullpen.

Cox currently has an ERA of 0.73 and a WHIP of 0.81 in 12.1 innings of relief in Triple-A.

He's expected to miss about three weeks.

Pitchers who have recently taken line drives to the face.

First, Albert Pujols hits Chris Young, and today Bobby Abreu hits Nick Blackburn.

Like they said on the YES broadcast, It's amazing that it doesn't happen more, but it's still ashame that it happens at all.

YES also just reported that Blackburn never lost consciousness and he is currently only suffering from a bloody nose.

That's a good sign.
