1a.(22) Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas - Wow, who didn't see this coming? Jones is from Arkansas, as is Jerry Jones, and what do we all know about Jerry? Huge ego. Anyway, it does make sense as a football decision, as Jones' excellent hands and is explosive enough to be a good changeup to MBIII. However, what happens when Barber wants more money? How much can you two runners? Trouble may be brewing in Big D.
Pick Grade: B+
1b. (25) Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida - I've beleived all along that Jenkins and McKelvin should have been mentioned alongside one another as the top two corners in this draft. He has all the physical tools necessary, but now the question is can he put it all together and become a top flight NFL corner? Stay Tuned.
Pick Grade: A-
2. (61) Martellus Bennett, TE, Texas A&M - Don't look for Bennett to become too much of a factor in the passing game. He has good size and will block well, but his technique, and speed will never allow him to be a receiver.
Pick Grade: C
4. (122) Tashard Choice, RB, Georgia Tech - It's a shame Choice will be relagated to kickoff returns, because he is a good runner. He came into the year as a top back, but struggled at times this season. The funny things about RB's is that sometimes all they need is a chance to play. I think that Choice needs that chance.
Pick Grade: B
5. (143) Orlando Scandrick, CB, Boise State - MAJOR character concerns means sign Jerry Jones up. He loves these guys. Before he ever takes the field, he's got to get his act straight quick. On the field, he's got nickel corner written all over him.
Pick Grade: D
6. (167) Erik Walden, DE/OLB, Middle Tennessee St. - Reeks of 3-4 OLB, and had 22.5 sacks in college. Sounds like a late round flyer to me.
Pick Grade: B-
Total Grade: B
Scandrick and Bennett keep this haul from being really great. Jones and Jenkins will contribute now, but I question how long Jones and Barber will work together. That said, this is why the NFC East is so good, Three of the four teams always draft well, and now the Redskins have joined the party.
